Join Amicus for an evening of beautiful classical and improvised music.
A unique and intimate performance space evokes the ease and simple beauty of music while removing any sense of the ‘untouchable’ or the ‘unapproachable’.
Dualities explores the world of the number 2. Our lives are pervaded with 2. We have 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 arms. We have a natural delight and fondness for twins. In music, we love duets. It is no surprise that we are the Amicus Music "DUO".
The word "dualities" brings a dark or contrary element to the number 2. It is about opposing forces or ideas. Good and bad, happy and sad, loud and soft, consonant and dissonant. Left brain versus right brain thinking. Creative versus analytical. The list goes on and on. Music is also full of the number 2 - compositionally, emotionally and philosophically. It captures the duality of life wonderfully. It also captures the delight and wonder of partnership in the form of duets.
So what happens when we add 3 to the conversation? Enter Mark De Silva.
